AUGUST 2008 MISSOURI SECTION NEWS

DALE BAGLEY, KØKY MO SM

Don Moore, KMØR, has stepped down as the Missouri Section Emergency Coordinator.
Don has served as SEC for close to 6 years and has accomplished much in that
leadership position. He regrets having to give-up the appointment, but time
constraints and additional responsibilities have made it necessary. I'm sure
that everyone in the Missouri Section appreciates has some appreciation of the
challenge of the SEC position and will join me in extending our heartfelt thanks
for Don's Service to ARES and to the Missouri Section.

There were several individuals that expressed an interest in the SEC appointment
and they all have much to recommend them for that position. I have selected Dennis
Gedeon, KBØNHW as my choice to be the new Section Emergency Coordinator. Dennis
has an Extra Class License, a Life Member of the ARRL and is currently serving as
the Assistant DEC for District A and AEC for Jackson County in the Kansas City area.
He is a certified Instructor/Mentor and Examiner for the ARRL Emergency Communications
Courses Level's I, II, and III. Dennis belongs to several emergency response
organizations like the Civil Air Patrol, Red Cross and Army MARS. In the September
issue of the Section News, I will pass on additional information about Dennis and
his goals for the Missouri ARES program.
